Rolando was born in San Valentino on the 7th January 1931. In 1945, when he was 14, he was the favourite for his friends in every type of fun and offered his life to witness the faith: ”I belong to Jesus”. And when he died because of his executioners’ shots, he embodied the Gospel’s beatitude: “Blessed you when they will insult you and when lying they will say against you every kind of falsehood because of my fault”.
His body is buried in San Valentino’s Church and his life, given for ideals he believed in, could be read visiting Rolando Rivi’s Museum next to the Church, and in Monchio di Palagano (MO), the Martyrdom’s place.
